      <image:caption>Marie holds a BSc in Chemistry with French from Queen’s University Belfast (2012), which included a year studying in a Grande École in Montpellier. She went on to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Education at King’s College London (2014), before travelling to Kenya where she worked in an international boarding school. On returning to Ireland, Marie completed an MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation (2018), reflecting a lifelong interest in the natural world, further developed through her qualification as a safari guide in 2013. Marie began her career in Educate Together in 2018, working in North Wicklow Educate Together Secondary School for five years before joining the team at Goatstown Educate Together Secondary School in 2023. Over the past eight years, Marie has played a key role in developing authentic and active student councils, leading the School Self-Evaluation (SSE) process, and working as a Year Coordinator. She is passionate about whole-school approaches that enhance teaching and learning, and is particularly committed to student voice and leadership. Through her work with student councils and in the classroom, Marie has focused on empowering students to take an active role in shaping their school community. Marie is delighted to take on the role of Deputy Principal in Goatstown ETSS.       <image:caption>Following the completion of a BA in Spanish and Sociology at UCD, Máire lived and worked in Spain for several years, where her love for the language, the culture and all things Spanish flourished. She worked in financial services here in Ireland for eight years and was then self-employed as the owner and manager of a children’s fitness and nutrition franchise. More recently, she worked as a Programme Manager with a global development agency, managing volunteer programmes to the Caribbean and Africa. Her work in sustainable development played a significant role in developing her passion for working with young people and for her commitment to development education. Since then, Máire has completed her Professional Masters in Education (PME) from Hibernia College, for which she was awarded First Class Honours. Her work as a teacher is driven by her belief in the empowering capacity of education and her conviction that education can open up the world to students from every walk of life.       <image:caption>Emma completed her BA in Gaeilge and English in St. Patrick’s College Drumcondra in 2012 and continued on to complete her Professional Masters in Education in 2017 in DCU. Emma is extremely passionate about the Irish Language and is a Bainisteoir for Coláiste na bhFiann Gaeltacht courses. She has also worked around the country running Irish Youth Clubs with Cumann na bhFiann. Emma spent three years working in Dubai as a Vice Principal in an International School where she furthered her love for school leadership, on returning to Ireland in 2020 she completed her Professional Diploma in School Leadership in University Limerick. Emma continuously works for State Examinations Commission as a Leaving Cert Oral examiner and as a corrector of the Higher Level Leaving Cert Irish papers. This has given her an in depth insight into the the Leaving Cert course requirements. Her approach to teaching is centred on her relationships with students which is very pastoral focused.       <image:caption>John completed his teacher training at the Institute of Education, University London, in 2000. In 2009 he completed a Graduate Diploma in Special Educational Needs at UCD. In 2024, he completed a Masters in Guidance Counselling in DCU. John has taught EAL for five years at Primary level and been teaching English, Creative Writing, Careers and Learning Support, at Secondary level, since 2006. Since 2009, he was also the ASN Coordinator at his previous school and is now moving into Guidance Counselling. John is the author of three novels, SLEEPWALKER (2008), HUDDLESTON ROAD (2012) and SLIPPING (2017). SLIPPING won the International Rubery Award for Fiction in 2017. All his novels are published by Dalkey Archive Press. He also had a short story published in Dalkey Archive Press’s BEST EUROPEAN FICTION 2015. His passion for writing and books has led him to create a range of literary projects that aim to foster in his students a love for writing and telling stories. These initiatives have been student-led and have resulted in the publication of anthologies of student writing, a website dedicated to publishing student writing, a podcast that provides students with opportunities to interview each other and speak about their writing. John also has a love of sports and has been involved in sports throughout his career. He has been a mentor for soccer teams in school and has also coached and managed teams in the local community.       <image:caption>Alan completed his Bachelor of Arts from University College Cork in 2008. He then went on to do an MSc in Geography with the University of Bristol in 2009. It was at this point that he decided he wanted to travel and share his love of learning and education with others. So, he moved to Moscow to teach EAL for a year before returning to Ireland to complete his PGDE in Geography &amp;amp; English with the University of Galway. In 2012 he moved to Mongolia and then to Romania before setting in an international school in Tenerife for a number of years. It was here that he developed a strong interest in student wellbeing and pastoral education and he developed the school’s SPHE curriculum. He continued along this journey of helping students with wellbeing and socio-emotional health by becoming a Head of Year in Milan and then a Dean of Students in Brussels. He is a life-long learner and has completed a MA in Creative Writing from the University of Falmouth in 2017 and an MRes in Education with the Institute of Education at the University of London in 2019. He has a Professional Masters of Education degree from Dublin City University, where he specialised in teaching Mathematics and Physics. Dwayne has spent the previous years working as a Maths and Physics teacher in Dublin. He is a believer in an inquiry-based approach to learning and encourages curiosity in the classroom. Dwayne is passionate about using Mathematics to understand the world around us, and inspiring students to see the beauty and elegance of mathematics in the real world. Dwayne has years of experience working with young people as a Trampoline &amp; Gymnastics Coach.
