Position of School Principal (permanent)

The Board of Management of Goatstown Educate Together Secondary School (Goatstown ETSS) seeks to recruit a principal to lead a community of over 400 students, teachers and other staff, following the retirement of its founding principal.

Goatstown ETSS was founded in 2020 on the principles of kindness, creativity and effort, underpinned by the overarching ethos of its patron, Educate Together. The school’s first Sixth Year students will sit their Leaving Certificate in June 2026.

The role description, which is a function of needs analysis comprehending student, staff and parent voice, outlines the specific needs and priorities of the school in the time ahead. (role description can be found below)

For the purposes of principal allowance, Goatstown ETSS is a Category XIII school.

On application candidates must have:

  • A recognised post-primary teaching qualification

  • A minimum of 5 years’ satisfactory teaching experience

  • Registration in accordance with Section 30 of the Teaching Council Act 2001.

Closing date is midnight on November 17th, 2025. Interviews will be held during November or early December and second round interviews provisionally in December.
